For Virgins and Not-So-Virgins, this how-to-solder workshop will take you through all the why's and how's, tips and tricks of Soldering as you create Charms! In this class we will make individual charms,
3-dimensional charms, charms using beveled glass, found objects, bubbles, double-bubbles, and marbles. A special side-bar of glass-cutting for those who
want to know it all! You should complete about 5 charms - more if you work quickly.
Whether you are a true Virgin and have never soldered before...or just wish to hone your soldering skills...this Workshop is the way to learn all about soldering. Kit including Bracelet and assorted glass included.
She twirls like the toe-dancer in your dreams...this petite ballerina who performs at your command. Welcome to jewelry with movement. Simply magical.
During this workshop we will each create an interactive pendant of a spinning ballerina encased in glass and twirling at your command. Her glass capsule is topped with an engraved scalloped roof inspired by the zinc bird cage roofs found in France and dangles from a chain we make ourselves. Students will learn how to drill a hole in glass, create a moving element, make soldered shapes, solder the pendant, make chain links. At the end of the day we will have our own Tiny Dancer Necklace which we can show off. Kit of glass & ballerina included.
A twist on the vintage Mexican Nicho's found in antique shops. Using imperfect glass and other elements, we will create a "nicho-esque" shrine (approx. 6" tall) topped with a crown of crystals and broken glass. The interior we will collage, decorate, and embellish in shrine-like form. Fun collage methods will be played with using vintage photos and ephemera, as well as creative attachments and decorative finishes (including dots & scallops). The Nicho will have a secret door which you can open and switch out the interior shrine. But best of all, it will be illuminated to show off the special interior. One Nicho will be completed in class. Glass kit included.
